First Blog For Our Secret Garden June 26, 2019

Cornell Oasis Garden has been in existence for over 40 years. We are located on Cornell across from the baseball/soccer field at 48th street. Entrance to the forest is directly north of the townhouses on the west side of the street. Our new blog will share information of the happenings in the garden that include new native plants added to our meditation garden, the woodlands, the butterfly garden, and the path edges. Birds, butterflies, dragonflies and other wildlife common to the garden and woodlands will be shared as well. Enjoy a stroll through the woods to a true oasis. We now have 31 gardeners actively growing flowers and vegetables. As part of the Chicago Park District, we welcome new gardeners. Contact me (Hal Cohen) at Raptorhal3@gmail.com to be put on our wait list. Recently we have ordered native ferns and wild flowers from Native Wildflowers Nursery to enhance our fern garden. Each season they will donate plants to non-profit gardens.
